Catalysts
CATALYZER - What is it?
Catalytic converters are responsible for reducing emissions of harmful compounds in the exhaust gas. Inside the catalytic reactor, the processes of reduction of poisonous nitrogen oxides and oxidation of carbon oxides and hydrocarbons take place. It is mandatory in cars are installed since 1996, and its removal can be associated with big problems during a technical examination or police inspection. When building a sports exhaust system, many tuners shy away from installing catalytic converters for fear of disrupting exhaust gas flow, and degrading performance. To meet the expectations of customers in our offer there are universal catalytic converters with increased flow in relation to the standard installed.
Sports catalytic converter, capacity 100 - 200 cpsi
For cars prepared for motorsports, our offer also includes sports catalytic converters with the best flow rates. Offered in our store certified products of the highest quality, which allow tuning and construction of sports exhaust systems in compliance with regulations and ecology. All products have European approval (E24, E9, E3), and ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification for the design of production, and sale of automotive catalytic converters issued by TUV SUD in Munich. The manufacturer's warranty is as much as 12 months or 50,000 km. Depending on your needs in our store, car catalytic converters come in Euro 2, Euro 3, Euro 4 variants, with capacities of 100cpsi, 200cpsi and 500cpsi.
Universal catalysts MO
A group of catalysts made of stainless steel with a metal insert, dedicated to gasoline and LPG-fueled engines. Depending on the exact model, it can be used in engines with a displacement of 0.7- 5 l. The flow rate in this product group oscillates around the value of 500 cpsi, which translates into minimal resistance to exhaust gas flow.
DO universal catalysts
A group of stainless steel catalysts with a metal insert, dedicated to diesel engines. Depending on the exact model, it can be used in engines with a displacement of 0.7- 5 l. The flow capacity of this product group oscillates around the value of 500 cpsi, which translates into minimal resistance to exhaust gas flow.
Sport catalytic converters universal MO-S products
A group of stainless steel sport catalytic converters with a metal insert, dedicated to gasoline and LPG-powered engines. Depending on the exact model, they can be used in engines with a displacement of 0.7- 5 l. They have a capacity of 100 cpsi and 200 cpsi, dedicated to sports and performance cars, do not adversely affect the flow of exhaust gases, and allow them to leave the exhaust system quickly, so they are used in many professional projects. They have been subjected to many tests and have a flattering reputation in the tuning industry.
Replacing the catalytic converter with a universal sport one
Replacing the catalytic converter is a necessity in two cases. The first is failure or loss of efficiency, and the second is exhaust tuning and the desire to improve exhaust flow.
For what reason can its failure occur?
The working conditions of the catalytic converter are not favorable usually mounted close to the manifold to be quickly warmed up to the optimal operating temperature, the continuous flow of exhaust gases and high temperature make a very heavy load. Usually the problem is high temperature, caused by too poor a fuel-air mixture or the use of so-called pop&bungs, which causes fuel afterburning in the exhaust and a significant increase in temperature inside the catalytic converter. This has a significant impact on the service life, which depending on the manufacturer is calculated at about 200-300 thousand kilometers. Symptoms indicating damage or wear of the catalytic converter are
- Loss of car dynamics, caused by narrowing of the exhaust
- Uneven operation at idle,
- Ringing or disturbing noises coming from the exhaust
- Loss of efficiency, resulting in increased emissions of harmful compounds along with exhaust gases.
- The second factor, or the desire to improve performance, is simply to replace the serial, highly restrictive catalytic converter, with a sport one. Sport catalytic converters, due to their looser design, provide significantly better exhaust gas flow and improved engine performance.
Catalytic converters play a very important role, and their efficient operation is the primary factor affecting the outcome of a technical test or police inspection. In tuned vehicles, catalytic converters are subjected to greater stress, so it is important to choose a quality product that will ensure trouble-free operation and improved performance.
