The Coolerworx NSB Short Shifter for Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 was developed specifically for one of Toyota’s most iconic AWD performance models. This version features a black anodized look and is supplied without reverse lockout. It is designed to provide shorter, more direct and more precise gear changes while addressing the wear commonly found in original shifter components on older Celica GT-Four vehicles.
The shifter reduces gear throw by up to 40%, creating a sharper and more mechanical shifting feel. The longer handle compared with the OEM version improves accessibility and helps make rapid gear changes easier and more natural.
Development began with a complete 3D scan of the Celica interior. This allowed Coolerworx to accurately map the available space and create a vehicle-specific shifter and surrounding components for the ST205 platform.
Because many Celica GT-Four ST205 cars are now decades old, wear in the original shifting system can significantly affect precision. The factory control cables use rubber inserts that may soften, crack and develop play over time. Coolerworx therefore also developed a dedicated Cable and Selector Rebuild Kit that replaces these rubber elements with solid aluminium inserts, helping reduce unwanted movement and improve mechanical feedback.
The NSB shifter features an integrated centering spring, which helps keep the lever stable and guides it toward the central position. This supports more consistent gear selection and gives the driver clearer feedback during faster shifts.
