The Coolerworx Naked Pro Short Shifter for MINI Cooper R-series combines the full functionality of the PRO range with a stripped-back, exposed motorsport design. Its CNC-machined aluminium construction is intentionally left visually raw, giving the interior a purposeful competition-inspired appearance while retaining the key performance features of the PRO series.
The mechanism reduces shift throw by up to 40%, providing shorter, more direct and more precise gear changes than the factory setup. The result is a firmer mechanical response and faster engagement during both spirited road driving and track use.
An integrated self-centering spring keeps the lever reliably positioned in the center, even during hard braking and fast cornering. This improves consistency and helps the driver locate the next gear more precisely under demanding conditions.
The shifter also features an adjustable gear lock-out system for Reverse, 1/2 and 5/6. Screw-type stops allow accurate adjustment, while a cable-operated pull-up collar releases the lock-out when required. This helps reduce the risk of accidental gear selection during dynamic or competitive driving.
The Naked Pro version is designed for straightforward installation and retains the core engineering of the PRO series while offering a more minimalist construction and raw billet aluminium appearance.
Important: for pre-facelift MINI models manufactured up to 12/2003, installation requires MINI R56 facelift shifter cables.
The main components are manufactured from 7075 aircraft-grade aluminium, while the base plate is made from 304 stainless steel. This combination provides the rigidity, durability and reliability required for demanding road and motorsport use.
