The Coolerworx Classic Pro Short Shifter for MINI Cooper R-series is a performance-oriented shifting system designed to provide shorter, more direct and more precise gear changes than the factory mechanism. With up to 40% reduction in shift throw, it offers quicker engagement and a sharper, more mechanical shifting feel.
The PRO version features an integrated self-centering spring, which keeps the lever reliably positioned in the center even during hard braking and fast cornering. This helps maintain consistent shifting feedback and improves precision during rapid gear changes.
The mechanism also includes an adjustable gear lock-out system for Reverse, 1/2 and 5/6. Screw-type stops allow accurate adjustment, while a cable-operated pull-up collar releases the lock-out smoothly when required. This helps reduce the risk of accidentally selecting the wrong gear during spirited driving, track use or motorsport applications.
The shifter is designed for straightforward installation and is suitable for a wide range of MINI R-series models.
Important: for pre-facelift MINI models manufactured up to 12/2003, installation requires MINI R56 facelift shifter cables.
The main components are manufactured from 7075 aircraft-grade aluminium, while the base plate is made from 304 stainless steel. This material combination provides the rigidity, durability and reliability required for demanding road and motorsport use.
