The Coolerworx Carbon Pro Short Shifter for MINI Cooper R-series is a performance-focused shifting system designed to deliver shorter, more direct and more precise gear changes than the factory mechanism. With up to 40% reduction in shift throw, it provides quicker engagement and a sharper, more mechanical shifting feel.
The PRO version features an integrated self-centering spring, which keeps the lever reliably positioned in the center even during hard braking and fast cornering. This helps maintain consistent shifting feedback and improves precision during rapid gear changes.
An adjustable gear lock-out system for Reverse, 1/2 and 5/6 is also integrated. Screw-type stops allow precise adjustment, while a cable-operated pull-up collar releases the lock-out smoothly when required. This helps reduce the risk of accidentally selecting the wrong gear during spirited driving, track use or motorsport applications.
The short shifter is designed for straightforward installation and is engineered specifically for a wide range of MINI R-series models.
Important: for pre-facelift MINI models manufactured up to 12/2003, installation requires MINI R56 facelift shifter cables.
The main components are manufactured from 7075 aircraft-grade aluminium, while the base plate is made from 304 stainless steel. This material combination provides the rigidity, durability and reliability required for demanding road and motorsport use.
