The Coolerworx Naked Regular Short Shifter for BMW E3X / E46 / E60 / E8X / E9X is a chassis-mounted performance shifting system created for drivers who prefer a raw, exposed and highly mechanical setup. The Naked version emphasizes the functional CNC-machined construction and delivers a more direct, precise and engaging shifting experience than the factory mechanism.
The shifter reduces gear throw by up to 40%, resulting in shorter and sharper gear changes with clearer mechanical feedback. Its rigid chassis-mounted design helps reduce unwanted movement and gives the driver a more connected feel during dynamic road driving and track use.
This version uses a 300 mm handle, positioning the gear lever closer to the steering wheel and making fast gear changes easier to reach. The longer lever improves ergonomics while retaining the direct response expected from the Regular series.
The mechanism features an adjustable gear lock-out system for Reverse, 1/2 and 5/6. Screw-type stops allow precise setup, while a cable-operated pull-up collar releases the lock-out when needed. This helps reduce the risk of selecting an incorrect gear during demanding driving.
The updated design also includes a new easy-access lubrication point, making routine maintenance quicker and simpler and helping support smooth long-term operation.
