Forge Motorsport has spearheaded Mini preparation since 2006, and is a historic sponsor of the Mini Challenge in the UK, where you can enjoy the performance of Forge components on the Mini R56 and F56. The Forge Motorsport intake for the latest generations of Mini (F54, F55 and F56 chassis) has been specially designed for the 2.0 petrol engines powering the Cooper S and Cooper JCW, although it is also compatible with the Cooper 1.5 petrol, BMW having used the same airbox. This intake features an aluminum heat shield that doubles as an air intake to send fresh air from the apron intake, and mounts on the original fasteners, with rubber washers to reduce noise and vibration. Have a look at the Forge video on dyno testing: they measured +10 hp. The duct to the filter is hand-built and has an air flow meter outlet so that the standard one can be screwed onto the new intake. If you have an air flow meter like this one, this component is compatible with your vehicle. If you have a flowmeter like this one, this component is not compatible. In terms of performance, Forge measured a +10hp improvement without any further modifications to the car, as can be seen in the attached video. Installation is very easy, requires no cuts or modifications to the vehicle, and is therefore fully reversible.
