The ZRP H-Beam Connecting Rods (Pin Size 16 mm) for Mercedes Smart 600cc / 700cc engines are engineered for high-performance applications where strength, reliability, and low weight are critical.

Manufactured from premium 4340 high-tensile steel, these connecting rods are designed to withstand extreme loads while maintaining excellent durability. The H-Beam construction provides superior rigidity and resistance to bending under high RPM and boosted conditions.

The small-end is equipped with aluminum–silicon bronze bushings, featuring a radial oil groove that acts as an oil reservoir, ensuring consistent lubrication and reduced wear. A ribbed pin end design minimizes distortion under heavy inertial loads while keeping overall weight to a minimum.

Each rod undergoes shot peening to relieve surface stress and multi-stage heat treatment to increase rigidity, dimensional stability, and fatigue life. Tight manufacturing tolerances guarantee precise fitment, optimized oil clearances, and strict control of bend and twist.

All connecting rods are CNC-machined to ultra-precise tolerances (up to 0.0002”) and inspected using Magnaflux testing to ensure material integrity. Design optimization is supported by Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for optimal stress distribution.

The set is supplied with ARP 2000 cap fasteners (5/16”), rated at 220,000 psi, with an optional upgrade to ARP Custom Age 625+ (280,000 psi). Each kit includes ARP moly lubricant and full installation instructions.
