This Forge closed-circuit recirculation valve (silent operation) has been designed for BMW 3.0 turbo N55 135/235 engines, fitted to F20 chassis models, with electronic dump valves. This product is very useful for vehicles whose turbo pressure has been increased by reprogramming, or for those driving in hot climates, to remedy frequent dump valve breakage.
Unfortunately, the malfunction doesn't always trigger the engine light when the valve is held open by turbo pressure, so it's possible to be unaware that you're losing power as a result. This prevents the diaphragm from sealing.
The valve can also dislocate when the turbo is disassembled, or in more extreme cases, bits of it can be found inside the turbo, causing major damage.

Forge's alternative significantly increases reliability. Their valve is made entirely of aluminum and works with a piston (which doesn't break, unlike the diaphragm), it replaces the original component with a piston that works on pressure/vacuum which also retains the control of the standard ECU over the valve.
