Blow Off Valve Closed Circuit Forge Motorsport FMDVDS3R for Citroën DS3 1.6

This closed-circuit dump valve (silent operation) has been designed for the 1.6 turbo engines found in the Citroën DS3, which are equipped with electronic bypass valves. It is recommended for all vehicles where turbo pressure has been increased through ECU remapping, as well as for vehicles operating in hot climates. It provides a solution to many commonly reported issues.

The most frequent problem with the original unit is that the ring retaining the diaphragm is made from very thin plastic. Over repeated heat cycles, this plastic can weaken and eventually fail. Unfortunately, this malfunction does not always trigger a check engine light when the valve is forced open by turbo pressure, meaning you may be losing performance without being aware of it. When this occurs, the diaphragm can no longer maintain a proper seal.

This issue can also cause the dump valve to break apart when being removed from the turbo, and in extreme cases, plastic fragments may enter the turbocharger.

The Forge alternative significantly improves reliability. Their dump valve features a fully machined aluminum piston, replacing the OEM diaphragm design with a pressure/vacuum-operated piston system while retaining the factory ECU control of the valve. This dump valve design has been tested for many years on VAG vehicles.

The spring is interchangeable to suit different boost pressure levels, and the solenoid connects directly using the supplied wiring harness connector.
